SEO Manager
Lead in-house SEO across AU/UK, shaping how customers discover the brand with measurable impact, supported by a thoughtful, collaborative team.
Thread Recruitment is working with a global building materials company known for thoughtful design, long-term impact, and genuinely caring about the products they put into the world. They’re bringing their SEO capability in-house, and they’re looking for an SEO Manager to lead and mature the function, initially across Australia and the UK, with expansion into additional regions and brands as the business grows.
The Role
You’ll own the SEO across AU and the UK as an initial focus, shaping how customers discover and engage with the brand. You’ll work closely with developers, designers, and leadership to strengthen communication, stabilise foundations and build SEO structures that support long-term growth.
Technical SEO
Crawlability, indexing, architecture & internal linking
Core Web Vitals improvements
Structured data implementation & AI-search readiness
International SEO: hreflang, canonicalisation, AU/UK localisation
Redirect mapping, migration preparation
Duplicate/thin content cleanup & indexation control
Content & Search Architecture
Keyword clustering & semantic mapping
On-page optimisation
Content hierarchy & governance
Analytics, Reporting & Operations
Dashboards in GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, Ahrefs/Semrush
Weekly snapshots, monthly insights, quarterly roadmaps
Clear documentation of decisions, reasoning & priorities
Light oversight of Google Ads via external partners (once SEO foundations are stable)
Why This Opportunity
You’ll join a company that:
Values honest, grounded communication
Thinks long-term, not in shortcuts or hacks
Cares deeply about quality, in both products and in people
Appreciates initiative, follow-through, and thoughtful reasoning
Is growing rapidly with heart, humility, and purpose
You’ll have a genuine seat at the table: autonomy to operate, and a team that respects your expertise. Your growth is also not limited here; as the function matures, you will also influence additional markets and product brands across the group.
About You
You’re an experienced SEO operator who brings structure, clarity, and intention to your work. You lead when needed, execute when required, and care deeply about the why behind the work.
You bring:
4–6+ years SEO experience
International experience (AU/UK ideal)
Strong technical depth (crawl/indexing/CWV/schema)
Migration experience or readiness
Confidence working with developers, UX, and cross-functional teams
Excellent documentation & clarity in communication
A solutions-focused approach in dynamic environments
Bonus skills:
PPC oversight literacy
Agency/contractor guidance
CRO or landing page optimisation familiarity
Who You Are (Beyond Skills)
You’ll thrive here if you are:
A systems thinker who brings structure to complexity
Someone who communicates openly and proactively
Naturally accountable — you follow through without being chased
Energised by meaningful work, not performative busywork
Driven by purpose and contribution
Salary & Progression
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
This is a full-time permanent position; a long-term opportunity built on ownership, measurable contribution, and the opportunity to grow alongside an expanding global business.
